Dear Camp MD Guests,

As part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all, we’ve introduced some important updates to our watercraft guidelines. Please familiarize yourself with these changes to make the most of your time at Camp MD:

Revised Watercraft Guidelines:

  1. Launch Point Changes: Camp MD will no longer allow boats or jet skis to launch from the beach. Instead, we encourage guests to use the public pier at Piney Point Landing, situated at 17139 Piney Point Rd, Piney Point, MD 20674.
  2. Acceptable Watercraft: Kayaks and small boats that can be carried by hand are still permitted to launch from the beach. However, trailers or vehicles are strictly prohibited on the beach.
  3. Adherence to Laws: All watercraft must adhere to State and Federal laws, including a strict prohibition on drinking while operating. Operating a watercraft under the influence of alcohol can impact your driving record.
  4. Designated Parking: All jet skis and boats must be parked at the designated area near the campground entrance.Parking area is limited and is on first come first served basis.
  5. Bay Regulations: While in the bay, it’s mandatory to stay at least 300 feet away from the pier and all swimming areas unless entering or exiting the boarding area.
  6. Idle Mode Near Shore: Within 300 feet of the beach, swimming area, or pier, all watercraft must remain in idle mode.
  7. Penalties for Reckless Driving: Any instances of dangerous or reckless driving will result in penalties, including the banning of your watercraft from our beach.
